About Me

Some of my earliest memories are cooking with my mum and great grandmother. To say I love food is a bit of an under statement.

Like most Aussies, my heritage is a bit of a mixed bag. As a first generation Australian my cooking is heavily influenced by my South African and Scottish heritage with a twist of south east Asian (part and parcel of growing up in Queensland!). And the other wonderful flavours I discover along the way.

This is my Food Odyssey.

Food Odyssey started the year Great Gran passed away. It was an homage to her in a way. And a way to record and share old family recipes with our family scattered across the globe. It’s weird to think that was in 2012. Now it feels like a whole lifetime ago.

Over the years its evolved to include other food interests. In more recent years my food focus has turned more keto and low carb to better manage my health and wellbeing.

It is indeed my Food Odyssey.

The happiest time for me – with food in my kitchen!

In 2020, I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.  My life as I knew it changed forever.

Fast forward to 2024. My love of cooking was a driving force in my recovery and learning to better manage my chronic pain condition. I adopted a low carb lifestyle to help manage my pain. This led me to study nutritional science, become a qualified nutritional coach and embraced my life as a CRPS Warrior.

I hope you enjoy following my food odyssey!
